Another fantastic model from Accurascale, the loco is amazingly detailed and looks absolutely stunning. The motor is smooth and runs flawlessly, it also has superb lighting features....
My only gripe is the sound isn't in sync with loco moving, but I get around that using the drive hold feature so it's not a huge issue!
Fantastic model that's supplied in box with really nice artwork.
I wanted to upgrade my Accuscale class 60 with sound. I'm well impressed.
I don't normally do reviews but I thought I needed to on these class 66 models.
I have one of Hatton's class 66's in my collection (66789) and I was one of the lucky ones to receive a problem free model from Hatton's at the time, so I knew that Accurascale already had a decent loco to start with and I was interested to see how Accurascale could improve on it.
The tweaks Accurascale did to these 66's were simply brilliant, not only resolving the issues that some of the Hatton's 66's had but also adding their own little improvements and tweaks to them, making them one of the best RTR models out there. So much so, this one was my second purchase from this run and I also have 3 Accurascale class 66's from the first run in my collection too.
Looking forward to run 3 of these as I will definitely buy more.
I do love the artwork on the exclusive models boxes too, keep up the excellent work and Merry Christmas to all at Accurascale....
My first train set way back in the 70s was a triang Frieghtmaster set with a class 31
With that background the 31 has always been a favourite of mine, maybe not the star of the show, but a favourite all the same.
This model was purchased DCC ready & has since had sound added & a period BR crew.
I’ve started to lightly weather the model with some Tamiya washes and the amount of detail that has shown through is nothing short of stunning!
Coupled with some MkIIs or a mixed freight the model is up there with my current favourite 37s.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Being a bit of an addict to coal sector livery this model has been a welcome addition to the fleet.
I’ve added the sound package (as funds allowed) & that has matched the wonderful detailing on this model. Only problem is I only purchased one!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another excellent set of wagons from Accurascale, hard to fault.
Pleased with purchase as with the AB locos also purchased this year.
My first Accurascale steam engine and doesn't disappoint. Detail is superb, accurate and fine. Especially like the light up fire box for dark running. Good runner and been pulling 5 coaches no problem on testing. Love the LT livery and will be using this as a preserved loco on my layout. Another great job Accurascale.
Absolutely stunning models. From build to finish an absolute must for any layout or collection.
Another fantastic Class 66 in probably my favourite livery.
It looks wonderful , sounds impressive and performs impeccably .
The packaging is first rate and the information is very nicely laid out and informative .
The price seems very fair and puts other makers to shame .
It is very hard for me to find anything to criticize but it would save the worry of removing the body if it came with a crew fitted .
The class 55 crew were good when they came out but these are a big improvement. Not destined for a class 50 as I don't have one. However, they are just the business in my late BR 47.
Another excellent product from accurascale! I am so happy with the way these wagon look. They're extremely highly detailed with nicely applied decals and some planks picked out. The postage and packaging from James & James definitely left room for improvement, the box arrived very squashed due to only being half filled with packing material, so there was too much empty space and the box wasn't structurally sound enough to survive the journey to NZ. This does however highlight just how good the accurascale model packaging is, because despite the shipping box being squashed and coming apart, the wagons inside their boxes were perfect, not even a single piece of loose detail, very impressed!

Love the livery, loco runs beautifully and the details are great, lovely little firebox glow whilst it runs around the layout, will need a nice set of coaches to put behind her now
Runs brilliantly, the detail is awesome and love the lights on board, bought as part of a project so I can pull my custom broken down Eurostar model on the layout
